Wine is mainly produced in eastern regions, with best wine producing areas of Austria being Vienna, Burgenland, Styria and Lower Austria. Austria has some excellent wines, especially white wines, which are slightly acidic. Austria's best white wine varieties include Gelber Mustkateller and Neuberger, whereas some of its best red wines are produced from indigenous grapes like Zierfandler and Rotgipfler.
