Eating in Austria

Food in Austria is a delectable fare of fresh local items, traditional food and bakery. Austria's food has a distinct flavor, with a good range of “meat and dumplings”. Wiener schnitzel, bread crumbed with fried veal escalope, along with the knödel (dumpling) are two most famous dishes of Austria.
Vienna popularly has tafelspitz (boiled beef served with horseradish and potatoes) usually had on Sundays.
Austria is also famous for its desserts and pastries, among which apfelstrudel is most renowned.
